Berean Standard Bible
Chapter summary
After the Sabbath at dawn, Mary Magdalene and the other Mary went to the tomb where an angel with an appearance like lightning had descended, rolled away the stone, and caused the guards to tremble in fear. The angel announced that Jesus had risen and instructed the women to tell the disciples to go to Galilee, prompting the women to leave quickly with fear and great joy. Along the way, Jesus met them, repeated the instruction to go to Galilee, and they clasped His feet. Meanwhile, some of the guards reported these events to the chief priests, who bribed the soldiers to claim that the disciples had stolen the body while the guards slept. Finally, the eleven disciples traveled to a mountain in Galilee where they saw Jesus, who instructed them to make disciples of all nations, baptize them, and teach His commands.
