Berean Standard Bible
Chapter summary
The wilderness and dry land will rejoice, blooming profusely and receiving the splendor of Lebanon, Carmel, and Sharon to reveal the glory of the Lord. People are instructed to strengthen weak hands, steady feeble knees, and tell anxious hearts that God will come with vengeance and retribution to save them. Upon His arrival, the eyes of the blind will open, deaf ears will be unstopped, lame people will leap like deer, and mute tongues will shout for joy. Waters will gush forth in the desert, turning parched ground into pools and springs where grass, reeds, and papyrus will grow instead of jackals' lairs. A secure highway named the Way of Holiness will be established, free of lions and vicious beasts, allowing only the redeemed to travel upon it. Finally, the redeemed of the LORD will return and enter Zion with singing and everlasting joy, while sorrow and sighing flee away.
